History

Erected in 1925, these two cottages were constructed simultaneously with Cottages 17 and 18, though positioned closer to Chapel Road and the property's rear entrance. Initially designated for doctors and hospital staff, each cottage has a corresponding garage in the back yard. Prior to closure, the interiors of both homes underwent extensive renovations. In subsequent years, a spacious concrete parking lot was developed behind these residences, presumably to accommodate the storage of hospital vehicles and equipment.

Architectural Description

These houses are two-story Craftsman-style structures enclosed by gable roofs with exposed rafter ends and off-center chimney. An enclosed entry porch with arched openings are centered on a three-bay southwest facade. A one-story sun porch extends from the left side of each. Windows contain 6/6 sash. Cottage #20 is sheathed with wood shingle, while Cottage 19 has been stuccoed.
