History

Inaugurated in 1928, this building opened as the new laundry facility, supplanting the outdated one situated within the power plant (later known as the Storeroom). Here, patients and staff performed the washing, drying and folding of the many garments and linens of the institution. In later years, laundering services were provided off-site. The surplus building was then used as a linen staging area, as well as workshop to perform maintenance of specialized therapeutic equipment.
